The cutter has a finger guard and a stylish, enamel-like handle. It's made of 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish and is dishwasher-safe. The wheel is 3 inches in diameter; overall, the cutter is 8 inches long. (KitchenAid also makes a larger version of the cutter, with a 4-inch-diameter wheel. This smaller wheel is easier for small-handed cooks and children, but it doesn't cut quite as quickly as the larger model.)
